Around 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized each year in the United States simply because too many people give up their pets, and too few people adopt from shelters. *

Adopting a dog instead of buying one is one of the surest ways to help reduce these numbers. By adopting, you are helping to save the lives of two dogs – the one you adopt and the one whose life can now be saved because of the space you freed up. Animal shelters and rescue groups have dozens of dogs, many of them purebreds, just waiting for homes.

However, if you do still choose to buy a dog please look for a responsible breeder. Responsible breeders provide a loving and healthy environment for their canine companions, one that they will be proud to show you. Never buy a puppy without seeing where they and their parents are raised and housed with your own eyes.
